How Stress Impacts Our Bodies
There are many things that attribute to Mental Health. College students have the Highest rates of Depression, through all the levels of school, which include Undergraduate and Graduate. There are quite a few contributing factors; Stress, Perfectionism, negative relationships, anxiety. All of these have such high impacts on Depression. College students seem to have a lot of stressors, and some of the stressors come from the insurmountable amount of homework, and studying that must be done in order to be successful in college. There have been a couple studies out there that have picked a select few degrees, in which they have studied those students. One of the studies that popped up, was the effects of stress on Law students and Psychology Students. They defined in this article things connecting to an External Pressure and an Internal Pressure. The external being the competition within the school, and Internal pressures, being that there was so much self-pressure, pressure in which students were placing stressors, with having to do with being that perfect student. Which knowing that is a very hard things to do, being this webpage was written by current college students. They found in the study that they were highly depressed, and struggling to cope with the harsh reality.

Another current study, had to do with eating disorders within college students, the students who were struggling with Depression, and whom were striving for perfection but were not giving their bodies sustenance, and in some cases too, over indulging in food. This is one way college students are trying to find comfort. Depression to me is defined as the feeling of loss, feeling of misery, and feeling unwanted, and in such a haze that there feels like no hope.
Stress impacts a lot of things, and is a precursor, in what seems like the never ending spiral into a deep depression. Depression, impacts our bodies, it starts with our minds and works its way around. Our minds are such powerful thing, that we can lose ourselves. Depression, is not just something that affects our minds but it affects our bodies as well. It is hard to keep motivation if our minds aren't, "In It To Win It!"

Finding ourselves while in a depressive state is not easy. Our mental health is very important and for some, they never really come back from it. Because they lack the tools to be able to cope with the struggles they are having. In a questionnaire put out by me and my fellow researchers, we wanted to place a couple questions and see who really was having a hard time. One question I put out there was, "Do you strive for perfection?" The majority answered, Yes, and that was about 72.73% of all that participated in my survey. Sample size being, 62 participants. There was also another question that astonished me, I asked, "Do you struggle with Depression?" Astonishingly enough, the majority said no, but the Yes's, followed very closely. A lot of the people that took the survey are currently almost done with College, but there are a few that are in there earlier years of study. I cannot hypothesize that first years have less stress, because in my opinion each level of college has its own stressors. A first year college student, isn't going to have the same stressors as a fourth-sixth year student. The
states are different.

Exercise is very important for a great stress relief when it comes to depression, its just getting our minds to stop and relax. Mental Health is important, and should not be taken lightly.
